Frequently Asked QuestionsIf I am interested in trauma therapy, what do I do next?
The best way forward is to contact me by email with a brief summary of why you are looking for trauma therapy, and let me know if you would like me to contact you by email or phone (I'll need a phone number where I can leave a message if you're not in). We can then discuss how to proceed. I offer a free initial session lasting 30 minutes, to give us an opportunity to meet and consider the best way forward for you.
How long are the sessions and how often would we meet?
The sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on what we agree to do. EMDR sessions are likely to last 90 minutes. It is usually beneficial to meet weekly at first, until you are feeling better, and then we could decide if fortnightly or monthly sessions would be appropriate.
How long will it be before I feel better?
This is more difficult to predict, as it will depend upon what happened to you and over what period of time. Everyone is different and will respond to traumatic events in their own way - and in their own time.
What will the therapy cost?
Sessions cost between £50 - £65 per hour, and the extended EMDR sessions cost between £75 - £130, depending on how long a session is needed.
